Please note: This description applies to stun batons sold by Security Plus Omni Corporation. We would like to be sure you understand-  the quality of personal defense devices can vary noticeably, so other stun batons may not perform as well under conditions of actual needed use.

Have you ever held a stun baton in your hand? When you do, there will be several things you notice. In addition, there are few things we'd like to make you aware of as well.

First- it is really effective. You will find it to be easy to use, meaning it is easy to lift, point and make contact with a potential assailant. You will also know that there several hundred thousands of volts that are going to be passing through this person, rendering them unable to move. This is because the electrical signals from his brain to the rest of  his body will be interrupted preventing him from being able to control his movements, among them, the ability to stand or move towards you.

Second- it is really safe. Those several hundred thousand volts only carry about 2 milliamps or less- which is a key piece of information to put you at easer about inflicting any permanent harm. Voltage is not what injures people- amps are. Since this is running such a low amount of amps, the effects of the baton are temporary.  That means that if someone were trying to stop you from defending yourself against them, it would be extremely difficult to do, for the reasons described in more detail below.

Third- it has the advantage of distance and grip. While Stun guns and batons work the same way, the baton has the distinct advantage of allowing you to be further away from your attacker.  

The distance means that you will not have to be in close contact with someone in order to use it. The electricity passes through the baton instantaneously so the extra distance makes not difference in terms of speed of delivering the electrical current into his or her body. 

The grip means that you can feel safe about keeping control of the defense device.  The design of the handle is designed in such a way that when you are grasping it, it's not going to get taken from you, even if an assailant tries to get a hold it from the other end. This is because the end he would be grabbing is smooth and the grip is not. And if that's not enough to put him at a noticeable disadvantage, he has hundreds of thousands of volts of electricity to deal with.

All of this adds up to the most important outcome: you will able to subdue or stop someone and get away (or make an arrest), and you will be able to do it without causing any permanent injury.
